I’m 22 and 8 years on the other side of my parent’s separation, It still affects me. I dealt with my parents separation during my teen years. I took the hard step of forgiveness that set me free in so many ways.  But it still doesn’t change the fact that I still hurts.  Me as an adult I know the reasons behind it but the thing is, it doesn’t ease my pain. I still wish my mom and dad were together.  I dislike split holidays and I hate to explain my condition anyone.

My fondest memory would probably be going to clubhouse. Every Sunday evening Dad would brfing me and brothers to the clubhouse where I enjoyed having countless hours of swimming and poolside playing. We never had reason to leave, except to walk up to the open air restaurant in our bathing suits to order a dish of sandwich.

This is an Balinese clubhouse which uses local materials to help construct buildings. The steps with stone finishes at the entrance leading to the Lobby where there is a huge clay pot standing exactly in the middle of the courtyard with a lot of black colour pebbles randomly scattered on the floor.

 

Washroom

It is very interesting to have concrete basin with copper water tap tapping out from the wall and covered by a woman face stone carving just like the water is coming out from the woman’s mouth. Besides, the shower tap is made by bamboo. The water is channeled from the main with a bigger size of bamboo and branched to each bathroom with a smaller bamboo. The floor is made up tiny gravel and I really like the feeling.

Restaurant 

A balinese style restaurant serving both chinese and western food. In this case, no bali food. The restaurant is having two parts. One is air conditioned and the other one is open. Beside the restaurant, there is a small pond having a small air condiitoned glass room where it lives two penguins. You did not hear me wrong, they are real penguins! If you are lucky enough you will see them swimming in the pond and they can swim really fast!

Swimming Pool

They have a standard Olympic sized swimming pool here. Next to the swimming pool are the shallower one. It is not shown in the photo because it is at lower level if the ground which people has to take the steps beside the big pool to get there. There are total 3 swimming pool there with the middle one the deepest and the other two serving for the babies and younger kids.

Other facilities included squash room, badminton court, exhibition hall, hotel rooms, casino, library, bar and etc.

​

But the saddest part is that the cubhouse has been demolised last year. The developer turn in into a foodcourt. It is really hard to believe that they actually landfilled teh swimming pool until I saw it with my own eyes. Anyway, this is still the one best place that I once enjoyed the most. Place may be fade out or demolished one day but memories remain.
