STAR TREK BEyOND

CAST DESIGN AND CHARACTER

PROTAGONIST : CAPTAIN JAMES T. KIRK

From the movie “Star Trek Beyond”, the protagonist is well exploded. For example, "There's no relative direction in the vastness of space," a Starfleet high mucky-muck tells Enterprise Captain James T. Kirk in "Star Trek Beyond." "There’s only you." She is asking him whether he wants to give up his captain's seat for a chance at a powerful desk job. From here I can already see like how important he is to picks up with the crew of the starship Enterprise in the midst of their five year mission to explore the galaxy and discover new life. Captain James T. Kirk saved the planet Earth several times. He was a quintessential leader, who led his crew into the unknown and continued to succeed again. His style of command demonstrates a keen understanding of leadership and how to maintain a team that succeeds in every mission, regardless of the dangers faced. He is a capable man and able to do anything. There are many solutions he has for problems at his disposal.

Besides, he has advisors with different worldviews. One of the advantages of being a captain, Doctor, is being able to ask for advice without necessarily having to take it. Kirk’s closest two advisors are Commander Spock and Doctor Bones McCoy. Kirk sometimes goes with one or sometimes takes their advice and develop it to an entirely different course of action. Kirk has advisors who have a different worldview not only from each other, but also from himself, is a clear demonstration of Kirk’s confidence in himself as a leader. Organizations that allow for differences of opinion are better at developing innovation, better at solving problems, and better at avoiding groupthink.

The main villain of the piece is Krall. At first i think that Krall is an alien who is not satisfied with the United Federation of Planets, but as the movie goes on i learn that looks can be deceiving - under all that make-up is a human, the captain of the ill-fated USS Franklin. He hates the Federation because he thinks its peaceful ways are making humanity weak. Krall wants to revenge on the Federation. He is the guy that doesn't think that working together with other territories is a good idea. Krall, for his own reasons, decides that war makes heroes, and not peace. For him, it should be rigid individualism, and not unity. Krall asserts that Kirk and his crew are weaker because of their reliance on each other, and that his actions are in saving humanity. Overall, there is nothing good to learn more about Krall.

Besides, Sulu and Uhura are both captured by Krall, along with several other members of the crew. Uhura is one of the first female character I looked up to. She is a strong, smart, and empowered woman and sacrifices herself for Captain Kirk. As a conclusion, every character in Star Trek Beyond serve their purpose and are well exploded.
